A TEMPESTADE

A Tempestade (“The Storm”), Merlim’s first album, was independently released in 2008 and features 12 songs by the band. Production was in charge of Kiko Zambianchi, an ever-present Merlim’s collaborator. The main characteristics of the band stand out in this work: the constant dialogue the two guitarists hold, without having the usual division between rhythm guitar and lead guitar; heavy and precise drums and bass, necessary for good Pop Rock; the taste for exotic atmospheres and textures in arrangements and the surprising poetry of Felipe Lion, lyricist of the band. One of the very good things about Merlim is that although lyrics all belong to Lion, the musical creation is, in turn, almost always collective. This work demonstrates the good result of this formula, which should be replicated in the next album of the band.
